Democratic Party Imploded

James K Galbraith makes a cogent argument for why the Democratic party lost the US elections so badly. The only thing he misses is the question around how, in 2020, Joe Biden received more votes than Kamala Harris in 2024, while campaigning from his basement. 2020 was a fix, clearly, it isn't really open to debate any longer. But his saying the Democratic Party would prefer to be a permanent opposition party, rather than allow its left-wing to have a say, sounds accurate. Oh, and can we just send the Clintons and Obamas out to grass?

The 2024 election was, therefore, a suicide. The Democratic leadership was, at best, indifferent to the erosion of voting access, negligent in retaining 2020’s new voters, and proactive in ensuring the abstention of what little remains of its “left” wing. It tried to cover this up, as usual, with celebrity endorsements and identity politics. As usual, it did not work.

Democrats Turn On Obama

The forever entitled and preachy Barack and Michelle Obama seriously hurt the Kamala Harris campaign, and Democratic voters seem to have figured that out.

The Obamas support the Obamas. They're not interested in the working class, or the middle class for that matter, and as time passes they become ever more cut off from mainstream opinion. Basically, they need to retire. Barack Obama, in particular has started sounding different when he talks down to black Americans. He changes his accent somewhat and throws y'all and folks around like he's from Alabama or something. It's cringeworthy stuff, but he appears unaware of what he sounds like.

Barack Obama has had a good ride, but his schtick has become stale. He's a divider, not a uniter.

Has Kamala Harris Conceded?

 At a recent campaign rally in Michigan, Kamala Harris promised to do everything in her power to end the war in Gaza. This is a rather strange promise to make, seeing as she's the sitting Vice President right now, so she could do something right now! But she won't, now or in the future as her statement isn't about Gaza, it's about optics and her own future, outside of the White House.

Joe Biden is not seeking reelection as President of the United States, he's stepped down as the Democratic nominee for the election in November. Now, the pressure will mount for him to resign as President and allow Kamala Harris to become the first female POTUS and first woman-of-color as well. If he doesn't resign, he'll go down in history as an old fashioned misogynist. C'mon Joe, be part of history.

The Case for Kamala

Word is that Joe Biden is gone on Monday, to be replaced by Kamala Harris. If it happens, she'll be good in the role, her critics are just partisan hacks. And I also believe Kamala Harris can beat Donald Trump. She has to concentrate on the swing states to do that.

Should Donald Trump start his own Party?

Go for it and build on Trumpism by starting another party. Recruit members from the bottom to the top and stand in all elections across the United States. There would be widespread support and too many candidates to make rigging possible. Just think, the new Trump party could end up holding the balance of power in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Let's face it, the GOP stabbed Donald Trump in the back. The only way to drain the swamp is to take it over. New members of the party could have Democrats amongst them. There are a lot of upsides to the proposal. Imagine a party actually delivering on its campaign promises.

Democratic Convention 2020

The Democratic Convention is a largely virtual affair, the first of its type. I've noticed the media are gushing at how great everything is, Joe Biden is marching to victory it seems. Err, no. From what I've seen, this has got to be the most cringe-worthy thing I've seen, and believe me when I say, that takes some doing. Am I missing something?

Obama: Russia Hacked

President Obama is saying that Russia influenced the outcome of the Presidential election by hacking both the Republican and Democratic party emails; the Democratic emails were then released to damage the prospects of Hillary Clinton, the presidential candidate for the Democrats.

Hands up anyone who believes this?

Let's see the evidence. It isn't too much to ask, surely. Maybe an independent hacker could look at the evidence and issue a report, and let it be known who this hacker is so we can all see they have the expertise.

Putin must be sitting there grinning from ear to ear. It's like he found a discarded lottery ticket and found he's a major winner. Imagine your competitor insists on making it very well known how clever you are. That's the barb Putin has to endure every day (irony). Someone, please tell President Obama to silence, he's meant to be managing a graceful exit and right now he's looking like a chump.
