Steven Adams Traded to Grizzlies

Steven Adams being moved to the Memphis Grizzlies, good or not? I think this is good for Adams. The Pelicans are famous for making the worst trades in the NBA and this is yet another example. Put aside all those draft pick rights, who in their right mind would think the big Lithuanian, Jonas Valanciunas would be the equivalent of Steven Adams and Eric Bledsoe. This has got to be a dumb move by the Pelicans. I've said this before, most recently in relation to that ball-hog Russell Westbrook; there is no way one player can be worth more than multiple very competent players. The Pelicans now look like a bargain basement team.

For Adams, he moves to a better team which last season qualified for the playoffs, while the Pelicans missed out. Adams as he ages will have to learn how to come off the bench and play a role rather than be the starting big. But big he is, and the Grizzlies will appreciate his presence. You can talk about movement on the court and driving lanes all you like, but having a wide body blocking the inside and protecting the rim is the most valuable asset on any team. You start with the block of concrete and build around that, not the other way around.

Did Lockdowns Work?

The answer to whether lockdowns worked in NZ is a straightforward - no they didn't. A recent study published by Waikato University shows that while mortality declined during the heavy lockdown in 2020 and for a short time after that lockdown ended, mortality surged thereafter to a level well above the 2011-2019 average mortality rate. All that effort was for nothing. The government are completely incompetent or a bunch of genocidal maniacs, or both.

10 Downing Street

Who is in charge at No.10 Downing Street? It has been put to me that Boris Johnson is meant to be, but his demeanour has changed over the last few weeks and possibly he's now a puppet and no longer in charge. He is largely expressionless and always working from a prepared script. If not Johnson, then who? It occurred to me it could be the top brass at the military. That's why the sudden U-turn on lockdowns. 

New Zealand Refining Change of Business

As a NZ Refining shareholder, I voted AGAINST the proposal to change from an oil refining business to a fuels import terminal only.

This move by the board of NZ Refining amounts to treason. It betrays New Zealand and leaves the country with no refining capacity. The country would be essentially owned by large overseas refiners. I've stayed silent and simply waited to exercise this vote. Now I get a chance to say something to the board, resign.

If you are a NZ Refining shareholder, please vote AGAINST the company's proposal. Put your country first and send the board a clear message.

Tokyo Olympics

I'm going to largely ignore the Olympics this time around. Without fans present, it's just not the same. The athletes and all those associated with the games are meant to be living in a bubble right? And the entire population of the village are 'vaccinated'. Okay, so how come someone in the village has got the virus? Will people finally wake up and realise that the jabs being administered are not vaccines, and not effective. They don't stop you catching the virus, or from passing it on. 

England Lose Euro 2021 Final

England overthink things when it comes to penalties. That's all I can say. They should have won the match in regulation time of course, they were up 1-0 at halftime and should have shut the game down in the second half, but failed to. Sterling should have got a penalty in the second half, but missed out. However, throughout the second half Italy looked the better team. England tried to play and came up short.

Then with penalties, England overwork it. The Rashford attempt had choke written all over it. The other two saves by the Italian goalkeeper were well done, but it was obvious from the body language of the penalty kickers which way they were sending the ball. That made things easier for the Italian goalie.

I should add, the competence of the England manager must be called into question. What was he thinking, choosing a young 19 year old player to take the final penalty kick. The player had come on as a replacement and looked overawed by the occasion. He had one or two touches but never really threatened. To then decide to put the same guy under immense pressure in front of a worldwide audience in the region of two billion, well, that's asking far too much. I doubt anyone could handle it at that age. This is coaching 101, when the chips are down and one last play is needed, you go to old heads with plenty of experience. 

England are still trying to end the drought, will this ever end? I'm a Chicago Cubs fan and know curses all too well. That took 71 years to erase and was only accomplished by having the curse transferred to another team due to one of that teams fans making a big mistake. So, England, this could go well beyond 55 years. Depressing I know.

Conspiracy Theory: New Zealand No Longer Exists

Here's a conspiracy theory. Conspiracy because it involves collusion, theory because I have no conclusive evidence it is happening, but there is a lot of circumstantial evidence. 

Theory: New Zealand is currently being run by a foreign power or powers. The current government have no say at all, what they're announcing are prepared positions or talking points provided to them from overseas. 

This is an easy theory to develop as it is simply 1 + 2 = 3. 

Look at it like this. What sane government led by people with at least a basic elementary school education would set out to intentionally harm its very own citizens? The answer: not that many would do so wilfully, although there are some nasty examples. Pol Pot comes to mind. 

For the most part, governments which do harm do so out of ignorance, or stupidity, or misguidedness. Simply put, governments can think they're doing the right thing and get it badly wrong. There are countless examples of that happening. 

However, the New Zealand government and the entirety of the NZ parliament are lock step in poisoning its people, even children. There is ample evidence from heavyweight scientific sources, including the inventor of the mRNA technology, that the mRNA gene therapy being touted as a saviour 'vaccine' is not fit for purpose. That it must be suspended and a full enquiry be held. 

But the NZ government barrels ahead, ignoring this mountain of evidence. Why? The answer may be unpalatable. They have no choice. 

How is this control exercised? Financially, I suspect. NZ lives on borrowed funds. Those debts need to be rolled over. Cut off the flow, you destroy NZ. It is quite possible NZ is being ordered to poison its own people and the weakling NZ government and the whole of parliament have buckled, like the spineless jellyfish we always suspected them of being. That's why the 2020 election was rigged. The foreign power orchestrated the result. Contrary voices must be shut down. 

I'm getting very close to the answer now. Personally, there is enough evidence to say this theory is 75% of the way to being proven. Sorry folks, NZ is no longer a country. It is now a province of another power entirely.

The Taliban Won

Those old enough to remember the Vietnam War will see similarities with the current US 'drawdown' in Afghanistan. In Vietnam the US were all positive talk and spin leading up to the end, until we saw the last helicopter leaving the US Embassy in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City), and film of the US Navy pushing helicopters into the sea from the decks of aircraft carriers, to make way for more helicopters arriving with people evacuating.

Does anyone think the Afghan government will last more than a year? The President of Afghanistan is basically only the mayor of Kabul. The Afghan military will readily don whatever uniform they're paid to wear. Those areas the Taliban are seizing, in reality it is just the areas putting up new flags as they switch allegiance. 

The US lost another war. Face the facts. 

England Euro 2021

C'mon England, do it. Win the thing. 

Being a New Zealander, people seem to think I'd want England to lose. Not so, I just don't ever want them to beat New Zealand. Against anyone else I'm happy for England to win. The reason I think they can do it this time is they've recently had success but ultimately came up short at the 2018 World Cup. Winning an important tournament often comes off going deep but failing at an earlier event. Teams learn a lot from this kind of failure and go on to win big.
