Prof Keen Explains Inflation

This is a good explanation of what is coming, and how those in charge lack the intellect to deal with it.

This is my way of explaining what he's describing: I want to cut down a tree in my backyard, but my axe handle is broken. I can choose to use the axe with the broken handle, and take a long time, or I can buy a new handle. The new handle costs $20 now, when it used to cost $10. Adjusting interest rates won't make the handle cheaper as energy is used to make all axe handles, and so no matter what I do, I am faced with paying more or going without and taking a long time to cut down that tree. Because all economic output consumes energy, if you restrict the flow of energy, prices rise and consumer behaviour has nothing to do with it.

Some will point out that we have had no shortages of fuel, the stock has always been there when needed. That is correct, but why the price of energy rose is due to the reserves being depleted. When Trump surrendered he appears to have done so after being told that the world had about 90 days of oil reserves left. The world had been running by topping up using reserves. Thus, we saw no empty tanks at gas stations, but in the background the feedstock was running low.

Now we are faced with trying to rebuild refining capacity in the Gulf, and trying to get shipping back to normal. This may take a year or two. In the wake of that, we may be about to experience a major collapse, along with the AI bubble and all the other bubbles.

Steve Keen Explains Just How Much of a Problem the World Has

This is a must watch. The world will experience a global famine if the Strait of Hormuz isn't opened up.

CF Industries Announces Fertiliser Delays

Farmers in the US are facing delays or non-delivery of critical fertiliser supplies just as the planting season begins. This could lead to serious food shortages in a few months when harvesting begins and crop yields fall.

See this link from CF Industries: https://www.cfindustries.com/newsroom/2022/union-pacific-shipping-restrictions

Then, we have the restriction of exports from China due to the Shanghai lockdowns, and war in the Ukraine leading to no crops being planted at all.

For New Zealand, it gets worse too. The closure of its one oil refinery means: if the supply chain cannot deliver finished fuels, farmers cannot produce as they need diesel to run their tractors. We are sitting on the precipice and are about to fall off the cliff.

Financial Reset Imminent

Interesting watch this, why are governments coming after our children for the Covid jab? That's because the new financial system governments have devised, requires everyone. The jab feeds into the vax passport which is really a digital ID. Then comes your social credit score and ultimately complete control of your money.

For businesses this is a very bad thing. If you own a business you may think you have to obey these laws. But if you do, you will end up out of business. Take vax certificates to gain entry as an example. They expire after 6 months, what if a sizeable proportion of the population do not get their booster. Then what? Well, you'll have no customers, you'll lose your business. And if the government want to ruin you, they'll just switch you off, or make all digital ID's in your area go red overnight. You'll never be free.

(Note that this video didn't stay on YouTube all that long; are they over the target?)

Global Supply Chain Stressed

This is what happens when you interfere with the supply chain - chaos. Back when the lockdowns started I predicted shortages and ultimately this will result in hunger, potentially riots (a few already, Chile being an example), and in some parts of the world, famine.

What I'm talking about are actions that stop the conveyor. I have quite a bit of experience with logistics, raw material processing being my top skill. I can tell you this very easily: when the conveyor stops, you lose a lot.

The global supply chain is one very large conveyor. It is slowly breaking down. The port of Los Angeles/Long Beach is one of the largest ports in the world. It is a vast contiguous port mass where they handle 20+ ships at any one time, and where they stack road trailers on top of one another over acres of staging areas, ready for attaching to the truck prime movers that haul loads out of the port to anywhere in the western United States. From there cargo also moves under bond into Mexico, through inland entry points as far away as El Paso in Texas.

What's going on? The USA is experiencing shortages on shelves right now and things are not getting any better. With a lack of ships and COVID restrictions, ships are waiting to enter port for as long as it takes to transit the Pacific. Bear in mind this is trade of the largest economy in the world being affected.

Little New Zealand is going to be hit really hard, you've only seen the start of this. NZ may find itself unable to export. Yes, unable to export. What you need to do is scream (yes, scream) to your local member of parliament about this. They're too stupid to realise the extent of the problem. The-global-supply-chain-is-breaking-down.
