That Trillionaire Elon Musk

Is Elon Musk a trillionaire? No, he isn't. The trillion dollar value people put on him is derived from his stock holdings, multiplied by the current value of those shares. A company may have a large market cap, but not be making a profit. Oh wait, that's SpaceX.

Elon Musk cannot simply sell his shares and bank a trillion. In theory he can, but in reality if he put his shares on the market, the market as a whole would tank and he'd end up getting cents on the dollar.

There are different ways of looking at this, I realise that, and there is no doubt Elon Musk deserves to be a billionaire off the back of Starlink alone. But beyond that, Musk's ventures are foolish, mostly flimflam. Look at the list; Tesla is the worst car ever made, SpaceX rockets blow up often, the boring company wasn't any kind of new idea, that hyper loop was stupid. Paypal leaves me wondering why people use that platform, I checked it out once and found that you basically give your money to them and they decide whether you can access it - not like a bank which rarely behaves like that. Twitter has always been a US government operation, governments have backdoors through which they monitor people.

I look at Elon Musk as performance art. PT Barnum was the greatest and remains so.

Cybertruck Junk

The Cybertruck is probably the worst car ever made.

Tesla Shares Drop

Tesla's share price dropped in the last trading session (Yahoo Finance) and down 28% for the year-to-date. But, I did notice a rise in price over the previous few days leading to this latest dip. What's up with that? Tesla make the world's worst automobile, and one model, the Cybertruck is a disgrace to trucks everywhere. It is probably the worst car ever built.

The conclusion I have come to is that Tesla is a Ponzi scheme, and fools tip money in to try and extract some value. The shareholders left at the end, when it call comes crashing down, will be the ones left holding the bag. One clever commentator explained that Tesla doesn't make its money on the cars, but on crypto currency and taxpayer subsidies. I can believe that, but have no special insight on the matter, I just look at how bad the car is and think the company must go bust.

https://www.cnbc.com/2025/03/26/tesla-drops-on-slowing-european-sales-concerns-about-trump-tariffs.html

Tesla shares fell almost 6% on Wednesday as data from Europe showed slowing sales last month, and investors grew increasingly concerned about President Donald Trump’s plan for tariffs.

The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) revealed on Tuesday that Tesla saw a 40% year-over-year drop in new vehicle registrations in Europe in February, while overall battery electric vehicle sales were up 26%.

Elon Musk's Headroom

Elon Musk bought Twitter back in 2022. The deal closed on the 28th of October that year. I have seen it reported that Musk borrowed part of the money used to buy Twitter, and that he used his shares in Tesla as security for the loan.

When the $44 billion price for Twitter was struck on April 25, 2022, Tesla's share price was $332.67 and when Musk became owner later that year on the 28th of October, Tesla's share price was $228.51.  Somewhere between those prices the bank will have valued the security underpinning the loan, a low point being $204.99 in mid October.

Right then, the current Tesla share price is $239.01 and it has been falling steadily all year, with only slight upticks. The lowest point in 2025 thus far was $222.10 on the 10th of March.

The point I'm making is that Elon Musk appears to be skating on thin ice. If the value of his Tesla stake falls too low, the bank may ask him for further security to back his loan. I wonder what that conversation would sound like?

Cybertruck Frame Snaps - Dangerous

Tow bars are not meant to just snap off. The Cybertruck from Tesla is dangerous and should not be allowed on the road:

Tesla Tanking

Thus far this year, Tesla's share price is down 41%. In the last few days, and since I called for people not to buy Tesla cars, and/or not do business with anyone who owns a Tesla, Tesla's market capitalisation has lost almost $200 billion. Way to go, let's keep that trend going, clearly a lot of people out there are thinking the same way.

In related news, Elon Musk and his DOGE team are said to be causing chaos with staff running social security. They're letting people go in a haphazard manner.

Efficiency gains are always desirable, but the way Musk and his minions are going about it has the appearance of causing intentional harm.

Restrained Britain

The British are usually restrained, polite, wait in queues and say everything is nice. If someone is late, they say nice to see you, or the food tasted nice, the music was nice and the person they just met seemed nice. But, the exception is when they get really pissed off, and decide to relentlessly take the mickey.

Turns out, Elon Musk has seriously pissed off the British. They're doing something about it. How nice of them:

Don't Buy Tesla EV's

What can you do to protest the treachery of Trump and his alignment with Putin and Russian foreign policy?

Don't buy a Tesla and do not do business with anyone who owns a Tesla.

Tesla is controlled by Elon Musk, the head of DOGE (but he's not in charge really - very strange). Imagine the look on Musk's face as he has to shutter his car plants.

Tesla has a share market capitalisation of $891 billion. Make that drop to less than a billion.

Do it in the name of freedom, and for the planet. Tesla EV's are the worst cars in the world, they're complete crap, imagine how many African children died mining the minerals in those volatile batteries. Yeah, so make Musk bankrupt.

https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/tesla-sales-decline-across-scandinavia-musk-faces-test-brand-2025-03-03/

Sales are down 42-48% in Europe. Let's get that to 99% worldwide.

Jeff Bezos Wealth

The world's richest man is reported to be worth, right now $191 billion. The question is then, is this too much wealth concentrated in the hands of one man? I think not and for one reason alone, his wealth is mostly represented by his share of one company, Amazon. If Amazon goes down, so does Mr Bezos.

That said, $191 billion is a lot of money. I put it like this; if he sold up and realised that amount in cash, he could at current share prices buy 100% of Caterpillar, Oshkosh and Emerson and still have $40 billion left over as pocket change. Just pause and think about that. That's three very good companies and he could own all of them outright.

But I don't resent Bezos at all as Amazon actually does something. Elon Musk on the other hand is approaching Bezos but most of what he does is make silly, very poorly made electric vehicles. They're completely overrated and being bought by complete fools.

We'll see what happens in 2021 and whether wealth takes a slide. We're in for an interesting coming 12 months.

Tesla Model 3: Rubbish

Have you been on YouTube and checked out the reviews of the Tesla Model 3? I have and these owners seem to be a kind of masochist. The flaws they report on the car are many and varied, real problems which they explain away. Is this the coolness factor overpowering the realities with this piece of overpriced junk? It has got to be. I'm sticking with Subaru, a real car.

Elon Musk...Again

I mean really, what a knob, the great Elon Musk and his so-called cybertruck. Turns out the window glass isn't unbreakable...

The Musk Prayer

Read this brilliant Musk prayer following the revelation just announced that Elon Musk has invented the subway. Not the sandwich, the underground people conveyor. All hail Musk. I wonder if he's apologised to Azealia Banks yet, my guess is he hasn't.

Our Musk in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as on mars. Give us today our daily feed. Forgive us our incredulity as we forgive those who still don't believe you. Save us from climate change. For the space, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

Elon Musk Days After SEC Settlement

Is Musk feeling all right? Maybe he needs to take a lie down.

Let's be clear, is Musk implying the SEC is working with short sellers?

SEC Settlement with Musk

In the settlement with Elon Musk, the SEC has arranged some adult supervision for the now former chairman of Tesla. Good.

Azealia Banks Right - Elon Musk

Maybe all those people who dump on Azealia Banks owe her an apology. A few weeks ago she reported seeing Elon Musk taking drugs. Well, even though this latest episode isn't illegal, here we have Musk smoking marijuana. Now the status of SpaceX in relation to Air Force contracts is under investigation:

Azealia Banks Busts Elon Musk

Hah, so there you have it. According to Azealia Banks, Elon Musk doesn't have the funding to go private. She knows this as she's been in his house waiting to do work with Grimes, and couldn't help but overhear Musk scrambling to recover from his tweet on the subject.

Check this out: https://www.businessinsider.com.au/azealia-banks-claims-to-be-at-elon-musks-house-as-he-sought-investors-2018-8?r=US&IR=T

This should trigger an investigation into Musk's business affairs and the reason behind his tweet.

Elon Musk's Electric Truck

When is Elon Musk going to go bust? Can this happen sooner please as this guy is seriously annoying. On top of making poor cars (see my earlier post about this), he's now setting out to do the same with heavy transport vehicles.

See the link >> https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/nov/17/elon-musk-tesla-electric-truck-sports-car-surprise

But wait a minute, electric trucks are nothing new. They've always been used in transport, the following is a list of useful locations where an electric truck comes into its own:

1. Indoors and anywhere ventilation matters,
2. Where there is a lot of stop/starting, (like inner city deliveries)
3. Where noise is a consideration.

The internal combustion engine comes into its own when you're talking about long runs; diesel especially for the distance and petrol for the power it delivers. Hence, for instance, Russian military trucks like the Zil are petrol, their army needs to be able to move fast and forage for fuel and petrol allows for both. Diesel comes into its own when you're looking for cheaper horsepower while running without stopping.

So Musk's idea is what exactly? A dumb idea is the answer.

Automobile Innovation

Here's an idea I've had concerning electric cars. This has probably been thought of before, but my version goes like this: the problem with electric cars is range. Fine for around town stuff, but between cities the electric cars run out of juice.

What about cars that run on roads with an electrical supply reticulated into the road itself. Steam trains used to have water towers for refuelling, then a trough came along placed beside the track, a scoop picks up the water and the train never has to stop. Well, how about zones on highways where there is a live rail and the car lowers a wand to charge the batteries as the car drives along. Solar and wind could be added as a source of power as well as the surface also generating power from the wheels rolling across the surface.

Then what about nuclear cars. I currently have a car sitting in the garage with a full fuel tank. If invented today the set-up would probably be illegal. So what about a safe steam car, the heat coming from an on-board reactor. Within the useful life of the car it would never need refuelling. Think like a watch on the wrist glowing in the dark. As safe as that watch would be the design brief.

Tesla Cars Bad Customer Service

Ever wondered what it would be like to deal with the people at Tesla? Wonder no more as I've just read a horror story.

>>You Just Knew Tesla Was Crap<<

Some excerpts....

On the evening of January 7, the day before I was to receive my car, Kevin called me to explain he had a call in with the Office of the CEO at Tesla and was working with his team in Tesla to resolve a problem that had come up — their CEO, Elon Musk, had taken my car and was using it as his personal vehicle to test a new version of autopilot. Even worse, he said he could see all the calls I had made into the Orlando delivery center this past week, and no one was taking my calls because no one knew what to do.

......

Tesla has a strange way of communicating with customers I think is best described as customer service vaporware. That is, they spend more time trying to create the illusion of customer service, rather than actually providing it. There is no mechanism for them to get feedback, as I tried to provide, so its difficult to see how they can improve if they don’t know where they are going wrong.

Elon Musk, get out of that car and let the man buy the damn thing.
