I'm a bit late with this as I've been sidetracked, but I see the lovely Azealia Banks now has Australia in her sights. First she called out that complete tosser Russell Crowe, but now she calls out the whole of Australia. She's right of course, but Australians hate being busted.

Azealia Banks Disses Sweden
Azealia Banks has found out the truth about Sweden; the country is racist and lives so far up its own arse they can't find daylight. That's the nub of it I reckon. The thing that is most annoying about Sweden is their attitude. They think they're always right and that everyone should listen to them. Hang on though, they were neutral during WWII but were happy to take German money. Hmm? They're monumental hypocrites, the best example right now being that grandstanding publicity seeker Greta Thunberg (or is that her parents?). I am always amused by Ms Banks antics, she's rarely wrong but certainly will not win any points for diplomacy.

Azealia Banks Right - Elon Musk
Maybe all those people who dump on Azealia Banks owe her an apology. A few weeks ago she reported seeing Elon Musk taking drugs. Well, even though this latest episode isn't illegal, here we have Musk smoking marijuana. Now the status of SpaceX in relation to Air Force contracts is under investigation:

Hah, so there you have it. According to Azealia Banks, Elon Musk doesn't have the funding to go private. She knows this as she's been in his house waiting to do work with Grimes, and couldn't help but overhear Musk scrambling to recover from his tweet on the subject.

Rap Music All Good
In late September through to early October this year I drove just over 9,000 kms (5,592 mls) around the US. A lot of that time I had the radio on in the car. So I think I can give a fairly accurate description of what I endured. Most of the music was rubbish.
Once out into the heartland and away from the densely populated areas, the spectrum was dominated by rock stations playing the same old selection, Poison, AC/DC, Poison, you get the idea. And then when out in the middle of nowhere and beyond range you can turn to Sirius, satellite radio. The amount of time you can listen to Sirius is limited because if you listen too long your head explodes.
The cultural heart of music in the US appears to be Rap music. The stations are funny, entertaining, and the music is genuinely good. Everything else you can forget. So when in range I'd just turn to any Rap music station and leave it there.
That said, I didn't hear any Azealia Banks. Maybe she needs to think more mainstream and stop trying to upset Russell Crowe, that pathetic non-Australian, actually a New Zealander practically denying being one and pretending to be Australian. It was heartening to see she quickly figured this out recently and tried to discipline him. She should have had the presence of mind to point out that musically he has no talent at all. Maybe she did, I don't know, but all Kiwis everywhere should salute her for confronting Mr Crowe.

Azealia Banks on Lemonade
I like Azealia Banks. I think she's very talented. Recently she's come in for a bit of stick over her attack on Beyonce's visual album Lemonade.
It appears obvious to me that Beyonce has borrowed Banks's style and imagery in her recent work. No doubt about it as far as I'm concerned.
It reminds me that Meghan Trainor's video for All About That Bass had the same visual style as the much earlier Cameo Lover by Kimbra.

Azealia Banks On Cultural Smudging
Interesting interview here of Azealia Banks. She rips into Iggy Azalea which is funny in itself, but also; she very intelligently describes cultural smudging. Another way of looking at it would be to describe cultural appropriation.
Her music is worth checking out. It's beautiful, confronting, brilliant. The interview is quite long, give it a chance though, you have to just listen to how the interview unfolds. The DJ on the mic, wow he's a good interviewer, they should teach his technique at broadcasting school.
But will her career implode or stall? I hope not, she's good.
