We are down to the last two, from the Western Conference the Denver Nuggets take on the Eastern Conference Miami Heat. My pick is for the Heat to take the title in six. Often, teams going to the finals for the first time have to lose a final to win a final and I see the Nuggets that way. They'll lose this round but go on to create a dynasty.
The Miami Heat have won before and, importantly, their coach has too. Eric Spoelstra has won the NBA Championship twice with the Heat, 2012 and 2013 - back-to-back. He knows how to win and proved it yet again with that classic seventh game in the series against the Boston Celtics. He simply organised things so that the Celtics couldn't play. The Heat had control pretty much the whole game.
The Nuggets will be rested, but has that been a help or a hindrance? Going into the series and having witnessed the Heat's rise, they'll be nervous and justifiably so.
An interesting battle awaits.
Update: Got this badly wrong, the Nuggets took it 4-1, quite easily really. The Nuggets team played as champions and Jokic is an inspiration.
