The New Zealand Fieldays are underway at the moment. Fieldays is an agricultural and primary industry expo, and the largest such event in the Southern Hemisphere. It's not just about tractors and harvesters, it's also about farming technology and these days laser weeders and drone sprayers are the thing.
The largest farmer lobby group conducted a poll at the show and these were the results:
National 54%
ACT 19%
NZ First 8%
Labour 3%
Greens 2%
Te Pati Maori 1%
I always remind people that farmers in New Zealand consider Labour and the Greens their mortal enemy. Here is the result then, study it. When people say the 2020 election result was not rigged, I laugh at them. There is no place in provincial NZ where Labour could ever win, but in 2020 we are expected to believe they cleaned up right across the country, in every single provincial seat.
