New Zealand has a lot of oil and gas potential, but only the Taranaki area has productive oil and gas wells. Just now, I quickly drew up the below map to illustrate where the strike zones exist, have a look at it. There are other areas farther offshore, but I've omitted them for now. All those areas displayed are accessible both from onshore and offshore.
Taranaki is in orange, all other areas are crimson in colour
