Edit to add: They now have the suspect in custody, but not thanks to law enforcement? If I've got this right, the pictures made available to the public were seen by the father of the assassin and he convinced his son to give himself up. The father then drove his son to the police station and they walked in together.

I saw that statement from FBI director, Kash Patel, and in it he appeared to claim credit. Ah, no Dude, you really didn't do much at all. The father did the right thing, that's it.
