The incoming Prime Minister of the UK, Andy Burnham, is expected to appoint current Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, to the chief finance role, that of Chancellor of the Exchequer. Mahmood is a member of the Blue Labour faction within the UK Labour Party, and so actually sane by Labour standards.
Is change expected? No, but it is a step in the right direction.
